Job offer : Research and Development Manager specializing in Bio-Fuels (M/F)
The role
Reporting to the R&D Directorate, you will succeed the previous R&D manager to lead technical activities related to additives (fuels and lubricants). Your role will be central to ensuring the group's scientific expertise and supervising major innovation projects.
You will be in charge of managing technical activities related to additives, particularly in the fuel and lubricant sector. Reporting to the R&D Directorate, you will supervise a team of 4 people spread across different sites and collaborate with other departments as well as international production sites.
You will work within an international team in a dynamic research and development environment.
You will interact regularly with internal and external experts, as well as with cross-functional departments such as production, quality, and supply chain. Remote management will be accompanied by regular travel to the various production sites in France and internationally for conferences and scientific consortiums.
Your main missions
- Technical Management: Lead the design, manufacturing, and use of additives for all the group's fuels.
- Management: Lead and develop a team of 4 experts (engineers and doctoral students) spread across the Sorgues and Orléans sites.
- Innovation & Research: Supervise theses, publish scientific articles, and lead the technical roadmap including biofuels.
- Regulation: Ensure compliance (REACH, CLP) and international regulatory monitoring.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Interact with international production sites (Belgium, Sweden) and support functions (Purchasing, Quality, Supply Chain)
This position involves regular (monthly) travel to production sites and international scientific consortiums, particularly in the United States.
The profile we're looking for
Education
Master's degree (Bac+5) minimum, ideally in chemical engineering or organic chemistry.
Experience
Minimum 10 years in similar roles, with significant experience in project management and team management in the field of fuels and lubricants.
Technical skills
Expertise in organic chemistry, fuels, lubricants, and engine combustion.
Experience in managing complex R&D projects, particularly in renewable fuel innovation.
Mastery of international regulatory standards (REACH, CLP).
Fluent English, written and spoken, in an international context.
