Are you far from the job market and looking for a solution to get back into work? Integration temporary work provides access to company assignments while benefiting from tailored, individual support. Here is how this program works.
What is integration temporary work?
Integration temporary work is a form of work integration social enterprise (IAE). It allows people who are far from the job market to return to work or receive training, through temporary assignments in companies combined with personalized support.
This program is run by Entreprises de Travail Temporaire d'Insertion (ETTI), temporary employment agencies whose mission is to secure the career paths of the candidates they support.
Who is integration temporary work for?
Integration temporary work is specifically tailored to:
- long-term jobseekers;
- workers with disabilities;
- senior jobseekers;
- young people under 26 without qualifications or who have left school;
- individuals receiving social assistance;
- RSA (active solidarity income) beneficiaries or people without financial resources.
Access to the program requires a Pass IAE, issued via the inclusion platform (les emplois de l'inclusion), usually through a referral from an authorized advisor: France Travail, a mission locale, Cap emploi, a municipal employment service, or a PLIE (Local Plan for Integration and Employment).
Good to know: since the work integration reform came into force in 2021, the Pass IAE replaces the former approval. It is valid for 2 years and follows the candidate throughout their integration path.
Benefiting from personalized support
Compared to standard temporary work, every worker in an integration program is guided by a dedicated Recruitment and Support Officer (CRA) throughout their journey. Beyond job assignments, the CRA supports the candidate with peripheral barriers to employment:
- mobility challenges;
- access to housing;
- health matters;
- budget management;
- lack of qualifications or mismatch with initial training.
This support is intensive: ETTI CRAs generally look after a maximum of 12 temporary workers in full-time equivalents.
Finding sustainable employment through integration temporary work
ETTIs can offer assignments lasting up to 24 months, compared to 18 months for traditional temporary work. This length allows candidates to build solid work experience, prove themselves within a company, and regain self-confidence.
Returning to sustainable employment also involves training. Temporary workers on integration paths can benefit from:
- degree or diploma courses;
- refresher courses;
- Temporary Work Professional Integration Contracts (CIPI), combining theoretical and practical training periods with company assignments;
- Temporary Work Professional Development Contracts (CDPI), to upgrade qualifications and access higher-skilled assignments;
- Operational Employment Preparation (POE) programs.
Today, 1 out of 3 temporary workers finds sustainable employment thanks to integration temporary work, and over 67% of integration paths end in employment or further training.
Meeting the economic needs of local areas
Covering a broad scope, integration temporary work spans all business sectors: retail, industry, public works, institutional catering, with a strong presence in construction, personal care services, and the environment.
Deeply rooted in their local areas, ETTIs match local job supply and demand. They also allow companies to:
- reinforce their workforce in shortage occupations;
- meet social clause requirements in public contracts;
- take concrete action as part of their CSR policy.
Ergos, Actual group's network of integration temporary work agencies, offers this support in around 100 agencies across France, including overseas territories. Want to know more about integration temporary work? Find your nearest Ergos agency.
