A new experience, a newly obtained CACES, a freshly acquired driver's license, or a change in availability… Your professional journey evolves. Your candidate profile should evolve with it.
When a company recruits, agency teams need to know your current situation: your skills, experience, mobility, and availability.
Updating your profile does not guarantee landing an assignment. However, it allows recruiters to have the right information at the right time to identify opportunities that may suit you.
And sometimes, things can move very fast.
Why update your candidate profile?
When a company looks for a candidate, it communicates its needs to the agency: job role, skills, hours, location, qualifications, or start date.
The recruiter then carries out what is known as matching: seeking to align the company's needs with candidates' profiles.
A concrete example A company is looking for a forklift driver for an upcoming assignment. You have the experience, you are available, and you have just obtained the necessary CACES. However, this new qualification does not appear on your profile.
You have the required skills. But your profile doesn't show it yet.
That is the whole point of regular updates: allowing your agency to better understand your situation and take your new skills into account.
Because a recruiter can only work with the information they have, not with what they have to guess.
The more complete your profile is, the more you will increase your chances of being visible to our recruiters.
What information should you update?
There is no need to completely rework your application every month. Focus on the information that can truly advance your job search.
1. Your availability
Are you finishing an assignment? Available sooner than expected? Let us know. Conversely, if you are no longer available, remember to specify that too.
The main thing is that your profile reflects your real-life situation.
2. Your experience and skills
Every experience can enrich your profile, even short ones.
Be specific. Rather than simply stating "warehouse work", mention the tasks performed: order picking, inventory management, RF terminal usage, or goods inspection.
Acquired a new skill? Completed a training course? Remember to add them.
3. Your licenses and certifications
Category B license, HGV license, CACES, electrical certification, FIMO, SST… Depending on the job, these qualifications can be essential for accessing certain assignments.
Remember to fill in the ones you have and check their validity when they include an expiration date.
4. Your mobility
Your mobility zone corresponds to the area within which you can travel for work.
Have you just obtained your license, changed your vehicle, or moved? Can you now accept assignments further away?
These changes can open up new opportunities for you. But your agency needs to be informed.
5. Your CV
Your CV should allow recruiters to quickly understand what you have done and what you can do.
A new experience, training course, or additional skill? This might be the right time to update it.
How often should you update your profile?
No need to modify your profile every week if nothing has changed.
Instead, keep a simple rule in mind: your situation changes? Your profile does too.
- Finishing an assignment? Add your experience.
- Earned a qualification? Fill it in.
- Has your availability or mobility changed? Update this information.
A few minutes after a major change is worth more than one big update once a year.
And if you receive an email inviting you to complete your profile, take the opportunity to verify that your information is still correct.
An up-to-date profile is good. A conversation with your agency is even better.
A candidate profile, no matter how complete, never tells the whole story.
It doesn't necessarily say that your last assignment made you want to discover a new career path, that you want to change sectors, or that your personal constraints have evolved.
That's why speaking with your agency remains essential.
Your profile provides the information. Your employment advisor gives it context.
Do you have a new career goal? Want to explore other jobs or broaden your search? Talk about it with your employment advisor or your agency. These discussions help us better understand your expectations and support you in your job search.
5 minutes to prepare for your next opportunity
Before your next job search, take a few minutes to check the essentials:
- Is my availability correct?
- Does my latest experience appear?
- Have I added my new skills?
- Are my licenses, qualifications, and certifications up to date?
- Do my CV and mobility still match my situation?
Sometimes a few minutes are enough for your profile to better reflect the professional you are today.
You don't always know when your next opportunity will come. However, you can make sure your profile is ready when it arises.
