Samuel Tual, Chairman of Actual group, has been appointed Vice President – Treasurer of the Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF)

Involved with the MEDEF for over 20 years and President of regional MEDEF organizations (Mayenne, and Pays de la Loire for the past 10 years), Samuel Tual has been elected Vice President – Treasurer of the national organization. This marks a new milestone in his commitment to making business a key link in social cohesion, individual fulfillment, and responsible growth based on social dialogue.

On July 17, 2023, on the proposal of MEDEF President Patrick Martin, the executive council unanimously elected Samuel Tual Vice President – Treasurer of the Mouvement des Entreprises de France. The head of Actual group, the 5th largest player in employment and temporary work in France, thus confirms his commitment to the employer organization, which began in 2002. Alongside the new president, Patrick Martin, Samuel Tual will continue to advocate for a positive vision of work and the conviction that business is central to the proper functioning of today's society and the foundation for building tomorrow's.

Putting people at the heart of business priorities

Today's employees aspire to more than just a job. They are looking for meaningful work and supportive, inclusive, and fulfilling work environments. Concrete measures must be taken to ensure a better work-life balance, thereby promoting motivation and talent retention. Working conditions (workplace layout and working hours) are topics that deserve a sincere and constructive dialogue with social partners—a dialogue that constitutes one of the main missions of the MEDEF. Initial training, continuing education, and skills development are also essential to offer opportunities within their company. Apprenticeship, which values intergenerational exchanges, is another highly promising avenue. It facilitates young people's entry into the labor market while allowing seniors to adapt their activity at the end of their careers and share their experience.

Developing skills to meet business needs

France and its businesses are facing a complex and constantly evolving landscape. At the heart of this dynamic, the employment sector is confronted with major challenges, requiring in-depth reflection and bold solutions. Persistent unemployment in certain regions coexists with sectors experiencing shortages of skilled labor. This imbalance highlights the need to better align job seekers' skills with business needs. To achieve this, it is necessary to develop new curricula and innovative teaching methods (accessibility for all, experiential learning, soft skills development, etc.) that enable quick operational readiness. It is essential to develop training and career retraining programs, in close collaboration with public and private stakeholders, to help workers adapt to the changing demands of the job market and ultimately secure chosen, rather than endured, employment.

Addressing questions and leveraging opportunities from the technological transition

Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics... the arrival of new technologies generates both enthusiasm and concern in the working world. While these innovations undeniably offer opportunities by automating certain repetitive tasks and boosting productivity, they also raise questions about the future of certain professions and the need to train employees in tomorrow's skills. We must seize this opportunity to anticipate changes and promote a responsible and ethical digital transformation. By investing in research and development, we can better understand how technology can be an asset for businesses and workers, driving innovation and economic growth. Alongside Patrick Martin and all members of the Mouvement des Entreprises de France, this new mandate provides Samuel Tual with the opportunity to reaffirm his positive vision of work and his humanistic view of business, while committing to "Act together for responsible growth," the MEDEF's raison d'être.

“First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude to Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux for his unwavering commitment and exemplary vision throughout his presidency at the head of the Mouvement des Entreprises de France. I also extend my warm congratulations to Patrick Martin on his election as head of the organization. I thank him for his trust and recognize the responsibility he is entrusting to me to carry out this project for an ambitious MEDEF for France. There are many challenges to meet to contribute further to the future of our country and its businesses. For me, this election represents the culmination of over 10 years of commitment leading regional MEDEFs, driven by a constant desire to promote and support our businesses while highlighting the values of work and employment.”
