Holberton, Actual group's IT school, now has 10 campuses in France
Barely 4 years after arriving in France, Holberton School is opening three new locations in Dijon, Fréjus, and Rennes. A local network close to regional needs to support training efforts and address the digital skills shortage caused by digital transformation.
It is currently estimated that France meets only 15 to 20% of the demand for digital jobs! This situation highlights the lack of high-quality training in a field required by every sector. To meet this challenge, Actual group, the 5th largest player in the employment and skills market, rolled out Holberton School in France in 2021. Founded in Silicon Valley by two French entrepreneurs, this software development school stands out for its innovative teaching method: open to all (no prerequisites), fast (18-month curriculum), and focused on employability (tailored to business needs). A model that quickly established itself: the number of students tripled last year and is expected to see similar growth this year, thanks in particular to new campus openings.

Campuses close to local needs

Dijon, Fréjus, and Rennes reinforce the local footprint of the Holberton network, which already boasts 7 locations, including one in the heart of La Défense. Being present as close as possible to needs—both those of candidates and businesses—is a conviction shared with Actual group: offering accessible training requires geographical proximity. The choice of these cities stems from identifying high-demand areas characterized by a lack of training programs and a large number of unfilled job offers. For municipalities, welcoming a leading global player like Holberton helps meet the demand of residents and economic actors to prepare for tomorrow's careers. It also contributes to building a dynamic local ecosystem around new technologies.
Internationally recognized training
More and more training programs are emerging in the digital field. However, Holberton stands out through the quality of the diploma awarded at the end of the program. It is internationally recognized by leading industry companies—including GAFAM in the United States—and corresponds in France to RNCP Level 6 (equivalent to BAC +4/5) for the complete program. The innovative teaching method, proven since 2015, operates without teachers, using project-based learning in direct contact with companies and the global Holberton community. Three intakes are organized each year (February, June, October) for training across all programming professions (Full-Stack, Front-End, and Back-End Web Developer, AR/VR, Machine Learning, Blockchain, DevOps, and Cybersecurity), lasting 9 months for the core curriculum and up to 18 months for specializations. Holberton is open to anyone over 18, with or without a diploma.

An integral part of Actual group's training network, Holberton School meets the demand for digital skills—expertise the country sorely lacks. The school will continue its expansion in all regions facing the most critical shortages. To remain even closer to both companies and candidates, a network of satellite centers attached to the main city campuses will subsequently allow deeper roots in local regions and address specific local needs with precision.
« Actual group’s promise is to enable everyone to find the job that suits them. This challenge requires individualized candidate support, but also, upfront, training tailored to business demand. To address this need, Actual group developed a network of schools, of which Holberton is a part. »

President of Actual group
« The expansion of Holberton School campuses across regions follows a strategy of proximity to candidates and businesses. Being present locally enables us to better meet the expectations of economic stakeholders and tailor training to specific regional needs. »
