France Digitale, in partnership with Actual, reveals the first overview of employment in startups and the new economy in France.
As a major player in employment in France,Actual grouphas partnered with France Digitale to conduct a major study on the job market for startups in the new economy. The results will serve as a basis for anticipating tomorrow's trends in skill searching and training needs.
Better understanding the impact of startups and their needs
The economic landscape is undergoing profound change: the rise of startups and the massive arrival of digital technology in the corporate world, particularly through artificial intelligence, is reshuffling the cards and setting new rules that will shape the job market of the future.

To anticipate and understand these trends, Actual group partnered with France Digitale – an association bringing together new economy companies – to conduct an overview of "Employment in startups in France in 2023".
This first major study of its kind provides valuable insights and allows us to draw two main conclusions. On one hand, startups are expected to create 50,000 jobs next year in France. On the other hand, there is no typical profile for a startup employee, who comes from universities, top higher education institutions, or fast-track training programs alike. For Actual group, these findings serve as strategic pillars for developing new services capable of meeting expectations (from both candidates and companies) that didn't exist just a few years ago.
Setting up training programs tailored to the new economy
As a committed player in the job market, Actual group looks ahead to tomorrow's challenges and positions itself as a full-fledged actor in the new economy. This involves, for example, implementing training programs capable of providing, in short timeframes, the skills sought among the 50,000 expected job creations. This is the mission of Holberton School, an innovative school dedicated to training in digital professions. Education that is accessible to all (no diploma required for admission, funded training...), project-based to train developers who are job-ready as soon as they complete their course. Its campus network is expanding in Paris as well as across France, to meet the needs of the 40% of startups located outside the Île-de-France region. In touch with SMEs and mid-caps across all sectors, Actual can also guide developers towards high-demand activity sectors in digital professions (services, industry, finance, health).
“This major study on employment in companies is part of the partnership between Actual group and France Digitale on digital issues. Both organizations share the same vision of the digital revolution as a tremendous opportunity for employment. They also agree on a responsible, 'phygital' approach to progress: technology's purpose is above all to serve human beings, freeing up high-value time to dedicate to their personal or professional lives.”
