The role

As the true conductor of your site, you are responsible for the successful execution of the rail operations entrusted to you. You manage the teams, ensure operational organization, and oversee compliance with quality, safety, cost, and deadline objectives.

As a local manager, you support your employees on a daily basis while ensuring the application of rail regulations and safety requirements.

Your main responsibilities

Team management

  • Supervise train drivers, ground staff, and administrative personnel.
  • Organize the daily activity of the teams.
  • Lead briefings and ensure regular communication.
  • Support skills development.
  • Participate in recruitment.
  • Identify training needs and monitor certifications.
  • Manage leave, absences, and payroll variables.
  • Perform safety checks (KN1) and support teams in a continuous improvement process.

Operational management

  • Guarantee the proper execution of the transport plan.
  • Adjust human and material resources according to operational contingencies.
  • Participate in the design and optimization of transport plans.
  • Implement solutions to improve operational and economic performance.
  • Monitor activity indicators and propose corrective actions.

Resource management

  • Ensure the monitoring of locomotives, wagons, service vehicles, and equipment.
  • Organize team travel (hotels, taxis, etc.).
  • Manage site supplies and equipment.

Customer relations

  • Guarantee the quality of services provided.
  • Be the operational point of contact for customers.
  • Participate in technical responses to tenders.
  • Contribute to incident handling and the preparation of billing elements.

The profile we're looking for

You have solid experience in rail operations and the management of operational teams.

You particularly master

  • rail regulations and traffic safety requirements; work organization derived from the Rail Branch Collective Agreement; planning and operational tools.
