Job descriptionReporting to the CTO, you will define the overall technological vision of the storage department and orchestrate the engineering strategy to ensure the performance, resilience, and scalability of the distributed storage infrastructure.

• Strategic Leadership & Innovation: Define the technical roadmap for storage products (S3 Object, Block, File) by leveraging open-source technologies (Ceph, ZFS, NFS) and developing low-level homegrown platforms.

• Management & Talent Development: Lead and grow the Storage Tribe (> 40 Scalers) in a climate of listening, kindness, and excellence.

• Operational Excellence & Quality: Ensure the reliability, security ("0 data loss"), and I/O performance of the platforms while ensuring strict compliance with SLAs and production standards.

• Alignment: Collaborate closely with Product, Network, and Hardware teams to align technical deliverables with the business strategy and the mission of sovereign Cloud.

• Critical Incident Management: Serve as a strategic escalation point during major incidents (P0/P1) and resolve complex situations through a pragmatic approach ("rubber ducking").

Profile sought

• Education & Experience: Over 10 years of experience in software/infrastructure engineering, with a proven track record in low-level development, distributed systems, and large-scale storage.

• Technical Expertise: In-depth mastery of storage technologies (Ceph, Object Storage, Block Storage, ZFS, NFS), Linux/FreeBSD internals, and system programming.

• Management & Leadership: Proven experience in managing managers and leading teams of technical experts with strong personalities in a critical production environment.

• Soft Skills: "Builder" mindset (creator of proprietary solutions rather than an integrator), pragmatism, strong listening and pedagogical skills, ability to abstract.

• Languages: Fluent English is mandatory (international work environment).
