The most sought-after temporary jobs in agriculture are farm workers, vineyard workers, harvesters, agricultural machinery operators, and livestock farm workers. On the agri-food side, demand is highest for production workers in slaughterhouses, canning factories, and dairies, as well as packaging positions. Demand is particularly strong during harvesting, grape picking, and product processing periods.

Yes, most agricultural and agri-food assignments are open to people without a degree or prior experience. Training is provided directly on the job, supervised by the farmer or production manager. However, some roles, such as driving tractors or agricultural machinery, require specific experience or certification.

Seasonal assignments follow the crop calendar: vine pruning in winter, planting in spring, fruit and vegetable harvesting in summer, and grape and apple picking in autumn. These harvesting periods also lead to peak activity in food processing, particularly in canning factories and dairies. This makes it possible to work assignments almost year-round by varying crops, regions, and production stages.

The pay for a temporary agricultural or agri-food worker varies depending on the nature of the assignment, the applicable collective agreement, and the candidate's experience.
