### About the client

Our client is a **leading international joint venture in the field of molecular and in vitro diagnostics (IVD)**, born from the strategic alliance between a global group specializing in health diagnostics based in Barcelona and a multinational biotechnology company leading in quantitative PCR technology and syndromic diagnostics.

It specializes in the development of real-time PCR assays and syndromic diagnostics for infectious diseases, combining cutting-edge innovation and automation to meet the changing needs of public health.

### Job description

Under the supervision of the department head, you will be responsible for executing laboratory tests and experiments, preparing reagents and equipment, collecting and analyzing data, and maintaining the general laboratory environment in accordance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.

### Main responsibilities

- **Test execution:** Perform laboratory tests, experiments, and procedures in accordance with protocols and received training.
- **Data recording and analysis:** Compile experimental data, perform necessary calculations, and accurately record results in the laboratory notebook (electronic or paper).
- **Progress reporting:** Periodically report results, incidents, or project progress to the person in charge.
- **Methodological collaboration:** Actively participate in the selection and optimization of analytical and experimental methods.
- **Laboratory maintenance and management:**
  - Configure, calibrate, and operate general and specialized laboratory equipment.
  - Keep the laboratory clean, tidy, and properly stocked with materials and reagents.
  - Process supply purchase requests when necessary.

- **Regulatory compliance:** Work rigorously in strict compliance with quality, occupational safety, and environmental standards.

  ### Job requirements
  - **Academic background:**
    - **Required:** Vocational training (or equivalent) in science, health, laboratory, or related discipline, complemented by demonstrable experience in a chemical, biological, or health laboratory.
    - **Valued:** Additional higher degrees in the scientific/health area.

  - **Technical experience:** Previous experience in areas such as molecular biology, biochemistry, laboratory automation, or clinical analyzers.

  - **Languages:**
    - Fluent Spanish or Catalan.
    - Intermediate level English (reading comprehension, conversation, and basic writing). \###
  - **IT tools:**
    - Proficiency in the Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    - Basic knowledge of SAP will be valued.

  - **Availability:** Occasional availability for sporadic travel or short stays in external laboratories.

    **Competencies and Skills**

  - **Precision and attention to detail:** Ability to handle and calibrate technical equipment with maximum precision.
  - **Teamwork and flexibility:** Ability to actively collaborate and provide support to different members of the department.
  - **Organization:** Efficient time management and autonomous prioritization of assigned tasks.
  - **Communication:** Oral and written communication skills for continuous reporting of results.
